ElectricEyes Basic & Basic Plus

ElectricEyes Basic & Basic Plus are the standards of the series providing an affordable, reliable Digital Video System. As with all products in the series, Basic &ElectricEyes Basic & Basic Plus

Basic Plus can be easily expanded and integrated into enterprise systems.

The Electric Eyes Basic uses UCC4 or UCC4A (UCC4 with a`udio input jack) capture cards.

Electric Eyes Basic Plus uses the UCC4P capture cards. This card was introduced in late 2003 with the following additions:

  1. Hardware Synchronization - Provides steadier and better quality video without compromising frame rates.
  2. TV-Out and Audio - A feature new to the series is on-board TV-Out. This means taking a real-time video feed directly from the board to a TV screen. This feed is independent of the recording and other Electric Eyes features and so has no affect on performance. Users can select any one of up to sixteen cameras for TV display or can sequence through selected cameras. There are two connections on the board for TV-Out, one at the front and one at the back, for convenience. An Audio input jack (for recording) is now standard on this board.

Aside from the differences above, Basic and Basic Plus products have the same features. The following table describes the individual products that make up the Basic and Basic Plus part of the Electric Eyes Series.

Product ID Capture Cards Camera Inputs Recording Frame Rate* Audio Channels 1 External Alarm Inputs 2 Alarm Outputs 3
104 1 4 2.5 1 4 3
208 2 8 2.5 2 8 3
416 4 16 2.5 4 16 3

1 Average frames per second per channel estimated on suggested PC setup with four cameras displaying and one recording. Please note that recorded frame rate depends on a lot of factors - activity in front of the camera, activity on the Electric Eyes Server, number of cameras displaying, number of cameras recording, CPU speed, etc.

2 This is the number of audio inputs that come with the system, any number of third party sound devices may also be added and used for recording with Electric Eyes. Audio input not available with UCC4 board

3 This is the number of standard on-board alarm inputs/outputs. The number can be extended by using the UUSB controller available from ElectricEyes.
